Develop a Personal Budget & Savings Plan

Overview

This session​ will help you develop a personal budget and savings plan. You will identify and track your income and start to take into account your expenses and begin considering which obstacles are preventing you from saving. You will complete a personalized budget with variations on how to save for your goals and be given a few handy tips to help you with your goal.

What you need to participate in this session

  1. Answer the question below, 'what do you hope to get out of this session' to have Maria best prepared to answer you.

  2. Have a paper and pen ready, or your favourite digital note taker, to start making changes.

  3. Gather your income (all the money you receive) and all your expenses (what you spend your money on) to bring to the class.

What you will get out of this class

You will complete a budget using your income and expenses and set out a couple of realistic saving goals.

Maria is a retired trainer/facilitator for Tafe, Australia's largest trade school for professionals. She was head of department in the Business & Technology area for 20 years and played a part in bringing their classes online. Her main role was teaching teachers how to teach and engage their students. 

These days you can find Maria road tripping with her husband in their converted school​ bus and dancing through their travels. Her passion is cooking Italian dishes and writing for her blog. She's into sustainability, a minimalist, and describes herself as a countessa-turned-hippie.
