Sourdough Starter

Faigie ​has been perfecting her sourdough technique and is here to share with you the basics of creating your own sourdough starter and guide through the process of feeding it and keeping it active.

What do I need for this class?

  1. A kitchen scale

  2. Flour and water

  3. A jar with a lid

What will I learn in 20 minutes?

You will have your sourdough starter, and guidance on what to do during the week of feeding it and keeping it active to get it ready for your first loaf!


Faigie has always leaned into natural, organic foods. She makes her own almond butter, almond milk, and uses the extracts as almond flour. She regularly transforms favourite dessert recipes using healthy alternatives. She believes in turning healthy eating practises into a way of life, rather than focusing on a diet, and has led classes focused on healthy eating and nutrition.

Faigie has been a practising midwife for over 40 years. She has a medical background as an RN and was a professional masseur and teacher of calisthenics and meditation.
